Partner Kelly Marriner heads the litigation team at Parker and Marriner. Running a legal practice with a focus in litigation requires Kelly to address issues efficiently and competently in an environment which requires a firm knowledge of the law, an eye for the pitfalls and loopholes, and an ability to think outside the square to reach the best resolution when advising and representing clients on a range of matters from District and High Court criminal trials and Family Court proceedings focusing on the Care of Children Act. Kelly thrives on her daily practice which keeps her on the ball working in a number of areas of law. As a Family Court appointed lawyer for child, Kelly enjoys assisting parties to resolve their disputes in the best interests of the children.
Kelly graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 2000 with an LLB Degree and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Japanese. She began her career at a provincial Taranaki law firm, became a partner before opening her own practice in 2007. Kelly joined Crichton Parker in partnership to launch the firm Parker and Marriner in 2012, enabling clients to receive an extraordinary quality of legal assistance in a large range of legal areas.
Kelly is a current Director of TSB Bank Limited and Trustee of TSB Community Trust. Kelly is on the Taranaki Family Court Users Committee. Kelly's past governance experience saw her as the Deputy Chair of TSBCT, Chair of Stratford Primary School, and a past Council member of the Taranaki Branch of the New Zealand Law Society.
Kelly is married to Andrew and they have two young daughters. Kelly enjoys gardening, and has a strong interest in information technology and cuisine. Kelly's love for cuisine has also led to her finding a creative flare for making novelty cakes especially for children.
